A Wonderful Day

I just wanted to thank you,

For a truly wonderful day,

I picked you up at eleven,

And we spent it at the beach by the bay.

It was fun to see the kids play,

Even though they like to fight,

They don’t always get along,

But someday they just might.

Kids will be kids,

Happy and mad,

Laughing and crying,

Always making me glad.

You tell them “No,”

Don’t do this, don’t do that,

They look at you funny,

Like you are wearing some strange hat.

They really like each other,

I think they truely do,

But learning to share,

Seems something totally new.

All I can do,

Is cross my fingers and pray,

And lend them support,

Listen to what they say.

I know it can be done,

But not in a day,

We just have to try,

So what do you say?

They are wonderful kids,

Who just need some time,

To learn how to share,

And stop that darned whine.

As for you, well…

What can I say?

I really did enjoy,

The company that day.

I’ll keep it easy,

And I’ll keep it light,

I had a good time,

Late into the night.

Thank you so very much,

For a wonderful day,

And now I have run out of,

All the things I can say.
