60 Days
Sixty days have come and gone,
Very bright like morning’s dawn,
Sixty days since I met you,
Experiencing something totally new.
In Mazatlan our eyes first met,
A tiny smile I did get,
You walked right past into the bar,
I sat down a distance a tad too far.
Later we talked over the net,
Finally a date we did set,
Dinner with you at Niblick and Green,
An old manager was there to be seen.
Back to my place for a bit of talking,
Suddenly out the door you were walking,
You thought it time for you to go,
I was bummed but didn’t let it show.
Things were good between you and me,
Our relationship bloomed for all to see,
Days flew past and we grew close,
It is of you for whom I boast.
So sixty days have come to be,
Me with you and you with me,
Sixty days is not much you see,
For there are plenty of days to be.
I long for years soon to pass,
Memories to treasure and to last,
Our love can only sprout and grow,
I’ll hold you tight and never let go.
