Over the years, I have written a few short stories. It’s a good way to hone your writing skills without having to fully plan out an entire book. Personally, I get an idea and just sit down and start writing. I let the story lead me, without any concepts of how it is going to play out or end. It’s my favorite way of writing.
So, enjoy these short stories.
Maxwell the Magnificent and the Blue Meanies
This stort story is actually most of the first chapter of a forecoming book entitled Maxwell Edison and the Silver Hammer. Since it is a daydream sequence, it has little to do with the main part of the book and can be looked at as a stand-alone short story.
Grammar Quest
Grammar Quest was actually a lesson plan I wrote as a student teacher and is more like a novelette. Students had to try and figure out which part of the map to visit next by figuring out what type of grammar was underlined in a poem, and then they could continue the story. But if they guessed wrong, it spelled doom for their characters. Nothing is worse than a Dead End.
